Metalcaucho offices selected for the prestigious FAD architecture awards

Metalcaucho, european leading supplier of aftermarket spare parts in rubber and metal for the automotive sector, keep giving what to talk about. The offices of M&R Precision Parts, a company of which Metalcaucho is part, have been selected for the prestigious FAD Awards for Architecture and Interior Design, an institution that for 62 years has recognized the best works in Spain and Portugal. At the moment, due to the pandemic, it has not yet been possible to set a date for the jury to fail the final verdict, but the 27 finalist projects of the total of 484 works presented have already been announced, among which interior design stands out from the Metalcaucho offices.

The work has been done by the architects Marcos Catalán and Marta García Orte, who in their memory comment that they “take the Forum of the Roman civitas as the optimal scheme to formalize the reform, where the porticoed square is the place around which the government institutions are distributed and in the center commerce and life take place public. It is formalized in the same way: a central and open work space around which the management offices are distributed, closed”.

In addition, they add that “the interior intervention is materialized in contrast to the rotundity of the concrete container and the unpleasant surrounding urban environment through wooden porticos, textile pavements and plant elements”. The company of Barcelona had previously stood out for taking care of the environment, and the design of its offices is also part of that firm commitment, by using materials such as recycled fiber for the soft textile floor, and designing its distribution and furniture to minimize the waste.
