Nissan Micra of Metalcaucho wins the Track Day of the Circuit of Calafat

The Metalcaucho vehicle continues to successfully test the resistance of its spare parts in circuit

Metalcaucho, the leading European supplier of aftermarket spare parts in rubber and metal for the automobile sector, continue to hold awards. This time it was thanks to the effort and skill of four members of the Metalcaucho work team, who prepared and piloted a Nissan Micra III K12 160 SR, to compete in the 6-hour Track Day of resistance that was celebrated on the 23rd of November at the Circuit of Calafat (Tarragona).

The goal was twofold. On the one hand, continue to check the resistance of the Metalcaucho spare parts that the vehicle has mounted in a real environment, which had already passed successfully in the past two months stress tests in races of the Catalan Mountain Championship. On the other hand, spend an exciting day of speed as a team. Both purposes were fulfilled, and in addition the result were two victories, in their category, SeriesCat Class 2, they managed to win, and in the general classification finishing in a meritorious second position.

The day was divided into two batches of 3 hours each, and those 6 hours were distributed at the wheel of a car that had been tuned by Juan Mármol, a renowned mechanic with extensive experience in competition and member of the Quality Department too, for three components of the Metalcaucho workteam:

• José Jiménez, young employee of the Quality Department, a pilot who comes from the virtual competition and who has recently competed in mountain races.
• Enric García, Quality and Product Manager and passionate about the motor world.
• Piero Tagliavia, featured member of the Product Department, and experienced in motor racing.
